PRAYER OF THE DAY: Merciful God, your Son was lifted up on the cross to draw all people to himself. Grant that we who have been born out of his wounded side may at all times find mercy in him, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. THE SEVEN LAST WORDS OF OUR LORD: “Father Forgive them for they know not what they do” Luke 23:34 “This day thou shalt be with Me in Paradise.” Luke 23:43 “Woman, behold your son…” John 19:26–27 “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46 “I thirst.” John 19:28 “It is finished.” John 19:30 “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit!” Luke 23:46 CONCLUSION “Truly this man was the Son of God.” Mark 15:39
